"[Immaculata] is a wonderful school community, and we can't imagine our children anywhere else. We love our school, and our children love going to school there."

New Families FAQ

Welcome! We are so excited to have you join the Immaculata community. Please take a few moments to review the helpful information below.
Please note changes due to COVID-19. Further details are available in our Reopening FAQ.

Connect With Our School Community
Sign up for our school newsletter or follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. You can also connect with current Immaculata families by joining the Home & School Association Facebook group.

Summer Activities and Programming
  • Your child can meet new Immaculata friends by attending one of our many summer camps.
  • Attend a summer playdate where your child can meet classmates and parents can mingle.

School Hours
  • Doors open at 7:15am
  • PreK-Grade 5 instructional time: 8:00am-3:00pm
  • Grades 6-8 instructional time: 7:35am-3:00pm
  • The After School Program operates Mondays-Fridays, 3:30-5:30pm (for an additional fee; Registration for the 2020-21 school year will open over the summer).
  • Vacation days are noted on the 2020-21 Academic Calendar.

Uniforms
Students in Kindergarten-Grade 8 wear uniforms. They can be purchased from either Land’s End or FlynnO’Hara. As well, we have a uniform resale, offering gently-used uniforms for a suggested donation of $5/piece. For more details, see our Uniform Policy. Masks are mandatory this year for students learning in person.
On Eagle Wednesdays, students do not need to wear uniforms but are encouraged to wear Spiritwear.
Students may dress out of uniform in appropriate attire on their birthdays (or half-birthdays for those born in the summer).

School Supplies
A full listing of requested school supplies for the 2020-21 school year is posted on our Parent A-Z page. There, you will also find many other helpful links and resources.

Snacks and Lunches
Students should also bring a healthy morning snack such as fruit, cheese, or yogurt. Immaculata offers a catered lunch program or students may bring their own lunches from home. Everyone will be notified when ordering opens at the start of the school year.

Car Line
Car line procedures make morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up run smoothly and safely. Please review them carefully as everyone on campus is expected to know and follow the procedures.

Mass and Friday Morning Prayer
As a community of faith, we attend a weekly Mass (K-8) at Immaculate Conception Church. We also hold a weekly Friday Morning Prayer assembly (PK-8). Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend these gatherings, however, this year, they are both virtual.

Communications
We currently use the School Info App as our portal for communication with the greater school community. The app is the central hub for important links, events, directory, and more. Each Friday afternoon, an informative school newsletter is emailed out, and our Principal follows up on Sunday evenings with a phone message with reminders for the upcoming week. For emergencies such as weather-related school closures, we send a simultaneous text/email/phone message and post the information on various online platforms.

Getting Involved
There are many volunteer opportunities to give your time and talent to. You may also contribute your treasure toward school fundraisers, annual fund, or simply linking your Harris Teeter VIC card, choosing Immaculata when shopping on Amazon Smile, or collecting Box Tops.
