"[Immaculata] is a wonderful school community, and we can't imagine our children anywhere else. We love our school, and our children love going to school there."

New Families FAQ
Welcome! We are so excited to have you join the Immaculata community. Please take a few moments to review the helpful information below.
Connect With Our School Community
Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for school news. You can also connect with current Immaculata families by joining the Home & School Association Facebook group.
Summer Activities and Programming
Attend a summer playdate where your child can meet classmates and parents can mingle. Join us on:
Your child can also meet new Immaculata friends by attending one of our many summer camps.
Middle School students and families are also welcome to meet up for summer fun runs, organized by the Immaculata Cross Country coaches.
Participation in the Summer Scholars program is strongly encouraged to help students stay on track for academic success through the summer months.
Students in Kindergarten-Grade 8 wear uniforms. PE uniforms can be purchased at Land’s End and should be worn all day when PE is scheduled, with dress uniforms worn at all other times.* You can purchase dress uniforms from either Land’s End or FlynnO’Hara online or visit the FlynnO’Hara retail store in Brier Creek at 8613 Glenwood Ave, Suite 109. As well, we have a uniform resale during school hours and over the summer, offering gently-used uniforms for a suggested donation of $5/piece. For more details, see our Uniform Policy.
*On the third Wednesday of each month, we have a Spiritwear day on which students may wear a Spiritwear shirt (sold periodically throughout the year) with uniform bottoms. Students may also dress out of uniform in appropriate attire on their birthdays (or half-birthdays for those born in the summer).
A full listing of requested school supplies for the 2019-20 school year will be available on our Parent A-Z page over the summer. There, you will also find many other helpful links, such as our Summer Scholars program, academic calendar, school handbook, and more.
Snacks and Lunches
Students should also bring a healthy morning snack such as fruit, cheese, or yogurt. Immaculata offers a catered lunch program or students may bring their own lunches from home. Everyone will be notified when ordering opens at the start of the school year.
Car line procedures make morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up run smoothly and safely. Please review them carefully as everyone on campus is expected to know and follow the procedures.
Mass and Friday Morning Prayer
As a community of faith, we attend a weekly Mass on Tuesday mornings (K-8) at Immaculate Conception Church. We also have a weekly Friday Morning Prayer assembly (PK-8) in the Emily K Center. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend these gatherings.
We use PlusPortals as our main communication tool with parents, which includes the school calendar, announcements, homework assignments, report cards, email, student directory, and more (instructions and access for new families will be sent in late summer). Each Friday afternoon, an informative school newsletter is emailed out, and our Principal follows up on Sunday evenings with a phone message and email with reminders and the schedule for the upcoming week. For emergencies such as weather-related school closures, we send a simultaneous text/email/phone message and post the information on PlusPortals and our website.
There are many volunteer opportunities to give your time and talent to. You may also contribute your treasure toward school fundraisers, annual fund, or simply linking your Harris Teeter VIC card, choosing Immaculata when shopping on Amazon Smile, or collecting Box Tops.
