The following descriptions offer information about various volunteer opportunities at Immaculata Catholic School.
Where appropriate, we have included the amount of time generally required and the time of the year when the committee is most active.

Athletic Committee
Help the Athletic Director with the marketing, fundraising, concession sales, uniforms, banquet, and special needs of the athletic program.
Time commitment: As little as 1 hour/week
When: Depends on role (banquet in May; concessions during games, etc.)

Back to School BBQ
Help organize, set-up and clean up for the back to school welcoming event.
Time commitment: 2-4 hours
When: August 22, 2009

Book Fair
Help set up, take down, organize and/or serve as cashiers during the two Book Fairs.
Time commitment: 45-minute shift(s) before or after school
When: One week each in fall and spring

Catholic Schools Week
Help plan and implement programs for current and prospective students.
Time commitment: 2-5 hours during planning period and actual week of event
When: Fall planning for late January event

Cultural Arts
Assist the art teachers with artistic events.
Time commitment: 1-2 hours before/after events
When: Art show in May; special events throughout the school year

Dinner/Dance & Auction
Help solicit donations, plan, set-up or clean up for our primary fundraising event, which   includes a dinner and live/silent auction.
Time commitment: 2-3 hours a week
When: September - October

Friday Folders
Stuff the students' weekly folders so they are ready for Friday distribution.
Time commitment: 2 hours during the school day
When: One Thursday a month

Graduation
Help plan the 8th grade graduation ceremony.
Time commitment: 2-5 hours/week
When: May-June (end of school year)

Halloween Carnival
Help with set-up, organization, and clean-up.
Time commitment: As needed
When: Mid- to late-October

Hispanic Heritage Month
Assist the Spanish teachers organizing cultural events for the Hispanic Heritage Month
Time commitment: 1-2 hours during events
When: mid- September through mid- October

Holiday Shop/Alternative Gift Fair
Be a Santa's elf and help students prepare for the holidays in an alternative gift fair.
Time commitment: 1-2 hour shifts
When: Late-November or early-December

Journalism Committee
Work with parents, staff and students to produce the school newspaper
Time commitment: 2-4 hours a month
When: September - May

Lunch Servers
Help distribute ordered lunches to children during three lunch periods.
Time commitment: 2 hours weekly is ideal
When: 11:15 to 1:00 on selected day

Music Program
Assist music teacher with performances and events.
Time commitment: 1-2 hours per week of event
When: Advent, spring program; as needed

Office Help
Fill in when office staff need subs or assistance.
Time commitment: Occasional days, 7:15 - 3:30
When: Intermittently during school year

Outreach Committee
Assist families within the Immaculata school community during a time of need; i.e., birth of a child, transportation problem, and crisis.
Time commitment: 1-2 hours a month, as needed
When: Intermittently during school year.

Tutoring
Assist with tutoring and John Bosco Program.
Time commitment: 1-2 hours weekly/monthly
When: Regular tutoring time during the school year

Teacher Appreciation Week
Help plan and implement activities to recognize our wonderful teachers!
Time commitment: 3-10 hours, depending on task
When: Fall planning or late January teacher recognition and/or spring planning for May  Luncheon, cards and flowers

Walk-A-Thon
Help plan the spring fundraising event. Various types of assistance will be required; i.e., preparing for the walk-a-thon, help during the walk-a-thon, and tabulating pledges.
Time commitment: 2-5 hours per week
When: January - April, depending on task

Painless Fundraisers
Market and carry out administrative tasks of to make these fundraisers achieve as much participation as possible.
Time Commitment:  1-2 hours monthly can be done from home
When:  Intermittently during school year

Uniform Resale  
Organize uniforms for resale to community on a regular basis.
Time Commitment:  1 -2 hours weekly
When:  Throughout the school year

Committees with this symbol are led by parent volunteers. The other committees are lead by school staff members. The HSA assists the school with finding volunteers for all listed opportunities.
